McAfee’s SaaS endpoint protection suite has been touted as the most comprehensive suite from a single vendor. The solutions provide users with both signature-based and behavioral-based scanning to deal with unknown threats. It’s time to take a look at the specs and pricing so that you can take a call as to whether it measures up to your needs.

To start off, McAfee’s SaaS Endpoint Protection is available in the following form factors:

  • McAfee SaaS Endpoint Protection – Advanced Suite
  • McAfee SaaS Endpoint & Email Protection Suite

Let’s take a brief look at the features of each suite:

McAfee SaaS Endpoint Protection Suite (formerly known as Total Protection) is the most basic offering of the lot. It provides features such as the McAfee Security Center (an online management console), a desktop anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-malware agent, a desktop firewall, and Web security. Subscription requires a minimum of two licenses starting from Rs. 1,425 per license per year, with prices going further down by 25 to 40 per cent with subscriptions of two and three years respectively. In addition, this version offers the added functionality of a Web filter to block unwanted sites and email server protection that scans for viruses and spam within the network. Subscription requires a minimum of five licenses starting from Rs. 1996.44 per license per year, with prices going further down by 25 to 40 per cent with subscriptions of two and three years respectively.
